Advisory Board Member

Lisa Fitzgerald Micco is the former executive editor of The Beaver County Times in Beaver, Pennsylvania.  She led her paper, for the third consecutive year, to win the Keystone Press Sweepstakes Award for its division. In addition, the staff received 44 awards, including three national titles, for work in 2017, a year when the family-owned news organization was sold to GateHouse Media and the paper participated in the Poynter Institute’s Local News Innovation Program. The Times participated as a pilot project for Investigative Editing Corps.  Working with founder Rose Ciotta, the staff produced a multi-media project on the opioid crisis in the county and state, called State of Emergency.
